PhD student Alexandria Blackburn had a first-authored paper, DYRK1A-related intellectual disability: a syndrome associated with congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract, published in the journal of Genetics in Medicine. Blackburn is affiliated with Program in Genetics and Epigenetics, and her advisor is Rachel K. Miller, PhD.
On June 27, the MD Anderson UTHealth Graduate School hosted its fourth annual GSBS Student Research Day (GSRD). This event featured a full day of competitions for Graduate School students, including oral and poster presentations and elevator speeches. It also provided our alumni a great opportunity to work with students and visit the campus.
PhD student Krystal English has been accepted into the Neuroscience Scholars Program (NSP), which is part of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN), and was developed to bring together scientists of diverse backgrounds and increase the participation of scientists from diverse cultural ethnicities. English is affiliated with the GSBS Program in Neuroscience and her advisor is Cobi Heijnen, PhD.
