The Graduate School announces the departure of Assistant Director of Graduate Education Kelly Moore, PhD. Moore will be leaving on December 4 to accept a position as the director of training for the T32 grant support office at Emory University in Atlanta.
The Graduate School announces the retirement of Brenda Gaughan, program manager in the Office of Academic Affairs. Brenda has worked for the Graduate School and UTHealth for more than 36 years. Her last day will be in December and a virtual event celebrating her tenure will be announced soon.
A new study from researchers at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, which include a GSBS alumnus and faculty member, has discovered that mutations found in cancers do not accumulate randomly, but are found in distinct patterns that vary based on the three-dimensional organization of the genome in the cell as well as the underlying factors causing the mutations.
Jeffrey A. Frost, PhD, a faculty member at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, was recently named one of the 27 recipients of The University of Texas System Board of Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award (ROTA) for 2020.
