Two GSBS faculty members to receive MD Anderson mentoring awards

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences faculty members Swathi Arur, Ph.D., and Radhe Mohan, Ph.D., will be presented 2017 Distinguished Faculty Mentoring Awards from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center at a ceremony on Monday, Oct. 16, at 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Pickens Tower, Floor 3, Elevator N, Conference Rooms 3-6 (FCT3.4142).

Arur, associate professor with the Department of Genetics, and Mohan, professor with the Department of Radiation Physics, are being recognized for their dedication and commitment to training and for serving as a mentor to other MD Anderson faculty. Arur, who is being honored as the Distinguished Research Faculty Mentor Award recipient, has been a GSBS faculty member since 2010. Mohan, who is being honored as the Distinguished Clinical Faculty Mentor Award recipient, has a been a GSBS faculty member since 2002.

Nominators with mentors on the MD Anderson faculty submitted more than 30 faculty mentors for recognition. The winners of the MD Anderson Distinguished Faculty Mentoring Awards, previously known as the Provost’s Distinguished Faculty Mentoring Awards, will receive a commemorative plaque and $5,000 each.

All MD Anderson faculty are invited to attend the ceremony.
