My lab is interested in developing and applying innovative bioinformatics approaches to better understand the tumor ‘ecosystem’, particularly, the cellular & functional heterogeneity and evolutionary dynamics of tumor cells and tumor microenvironment (TME), the regulatory networks of anti-tumor immune response, the molecular & genomic determinants of tumor response to anti-cancer therapies, through high-dimensional (multi-platform, longitudinal, and spatial) profiling of tumor cells and their TME.

We perform integrative computational analysis of data generated from the cutting-edge technologies including single cell RNA/DNA/immune repertoire sequencing, single cell mass cytometry (CyTOF), mass spectrometry proteomics, whole transcriptome sequencing, TCR/BCR sequencing, Nanostring gene expression panels, whole-exome sequencing, targeted deep sequencing, and whole-genome sequencing, with the aim to identify new ‘drivers’ that promote tumor transformation/metastasis/drug resistance, understand the regulatory pathways/networks of immunosuppressive TME, find predictive biomarkers/signatures of therapy response, and discover novel clinically actionable targets. In addition, we are also interested in developing single cell analytic tools.
