Lucien Cuénot 1906
Mendel's Law and the Heredity of Pigmentation in Mice
Soon after the rediscovery of Mendel’s laws of inheritance in plants, French scientist Lucien Cuénot published a paper in 1902 reporting his studies of the inheritance of pigmentation in the house mouse. His results showed that Mendel’s laws of inheritance also applied to animals. This is a fundamental paper in the field of genetics.
Because the original paper was published in French and many people may not read French, we translated the manuscript into English. We then recruited others to translate the paper into other languages (below). We hope that this provides the opportunity for many more people to read this classic paper in genetics.
Please let us know if you find any errors in the translation. More languages will be added soon. Please contact us if you would like to add an additional language.
