Three students from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences have been selected to participate in the inaugural cohort of UTHealthLeads, a student fellowship program with the goal of developing tomorrow’s leaders in health care today.
A total of 18 students, three from each of the six UTHealth schools, will participate in this program and will have the opportunity to network with leaders from Texas Medical Center and from across the state, learn leadership development and planning skills, gains substantive leadership training, and receive a certificate upon successful program completion.
The first set of GSBS students to be selected as fellows are:
Mary Figueroa, a PhD student in the Program of Therapeutics and Pharmacology. Her advisor is Joya Chandra, PhD.
Melissa Franch, a PhD student in the Program of Neuroscience. Her advisor is Valentin Dragoi, PhD. Franch is also the recipient of the 2019-2020 Sam Taub and Beatrice Burton Endowed Scholarship in Vision Disease.
Malcolm Moses, a PhD student in the Program of Genetics and Epigenetics. His advisor is Richard Behringer, PhD.
