My research and clinical efforts focus on the implementation, optimization, and validation of high-precision radiation therapy techniques. This includes cranial and spine stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and the commissioning of advanced treatment delivery systems.
In brain and spine SRS, I focus on improving targeting accuracy, motion management, and workflow efficiency. My work involves the development and refinement of clinical protocols that ensure submillimeter precision, integrating image guidance, immobilization strategies, and quality assurance tools. I have contributed to optimizing treatment planning techniques that maximize dose conformity while minimizing toxicity to adjacent critical structures.
In HDR brachytherapy, my research emphasizes dosimetric accuracy and treatment optimization across a variety of anatomical sites. I am particularly interested in source modeling, applicator commissioning, and the standardization of workflows to enhance both patient safety and treatment efficiency.
A core component of my technical work includes the commissioning of flattening filter-free (FFF) photon beams for stereotactic radiotherapy. This involves beam data collection, validation through end-to-end testing, and the integration of robust QA protocols to ensure safe and accurate clinical deployment.
Additionally, I have led the commissioning of the Brainlab ExacTrac image-guided positioning system, focusing on its integration with linac-based SRS workflows. This includes evaluating its 6D correction capabilities, imaging accuracy, and compatibility with various immobilization systems to support high-precision treatments.
Overall, my work bridges clinical implementation with technical innovation, aiming to enhance treatment accuracy, workflow efficiency, and patient outcomes across multiple advanced radiation therapy modalities.
