Dr. Teng's laboratory is interested in the discovery of mechanisms contributing to the complex process of atherosclerosis in humans and animal models and to design and develop genetic and cell therapies for the treatment of atherosclerotic vascular disease.
Techniques to learn in a tutorial:
- Structure biology: CRISPR/CAS9 gene editing, siRNA, miRNA, vaccine development, protein-protein interaction
- Molecular biology: cloning and construction of viral vectors
- Viral vector delivery: adeno-associated viral vectors and lentiviral vectors
- Biochemical assays: HPLC, FPLC, ELISA, and Western Blot analysis
- Biological evaluation: cell culture, animal models
- Mouse physiology and biology
