Department of Imaging Physics
Dr. Juan Camilo Ocampo Ramos's research focuses on advancing the field of imaging physics and nuclear medicine through the development of innovative dosimetry tools and methodologies. His work emphasizes personalized dosimetry, radiological protection, and quality assurance in diagnostic radiology. Dr. Ocampo Ramos has contributed to the creation and validation of software solutions, such as MIRDcalc, aimed at improving internal radiation dose calculations and MIRDct for computed tomography organ level dosimetry. His research also explores the implementation of computational dosimetry, Monte Carlo simulations, and the use of computational phantoms to enhance the accuracy and safety of radiopharmaceutical therapies and medical imaging. By integrating these advanced techniques, Dr. Ocampo Ramos aims to optimize patient-specific treatments and contribute to the development of standardized protocols in radiology and nuclear medicine.
