Lenay Johnson joined The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences as the director of student affairs and admissions in September.
Among other responsibilities, Johnson’s role at the Graduate School will largely revolve around working with the admissions team to admit and orient the best and brightest students into our programs and community. She will also work with student organizations alongside the student affairs program manager to ensure their needs are met.
Johnson has a wide array of experience ranging from education to sales. She comes to the GSBS with a well-rounded understanding of academic recruitment from her previous post as the director of graduate admissions and recruitment at the University of Houston C.T. She is most excited to work with applicants and students who will find future medical breakthroughs and cures to better the health of our nation and our world.
Johnson graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from the University of Houston.
When she is not in the office, Johnson can be found either in her kitchen or out in nature. “I love gardening, cooking, and fishing. I also like riding horses. I am even in a trail riding club!”
