Colden Snow has been with the Graduate School since November 2021. In his role as senior administrative coordinator for finance, he reviews UTHealth Houston accounts, handles financial questions from students, faculty, and staff, and works on seasonal finance projects. When he's not handling the Graduate School's financial affairs, he enjoys the Houston arts scene and making his way through his book collection! Keep reading to learn more about Colden.
What is your current title, and what do you do day-to-day?
I am the senior administrative coordinator for finance. Day-to-day, I review UTHealth Houston accounts, monitor GSBS finance email, assist students, faculty, and staff with finance questions, and assist in approval of required GSBS event documents. I also work on seasonal finance projects and tasks throughout the year.
Are you working on any upcoming projects?
I am currently working with the finance team to onboard all the new summer and fall students.
What excites you the most about working for the Graduate School?
There is never a dull moment, whether it's fun colleagues or work issues that come out of left field. Some weeks you think things will go one way, and then they shift and go another way. That does make it fun sometimes, even if the fun comes from venting about what happened.
Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
I subscribe to the symphony and the opera, and I enjoy partaking in everything the Houston arts scene has to offer. I also collect books, and someday I will get around to reading them all!
What skills do you find most valuable in your work?
Organization and problem solving.
Do you have a favorite memory at the Graduate School so far?
I would say it's a cumulative memory of all the Friday Afternoon Clubs, the receptions we host at the end of every orientation. It's always nice to be with coworkers and students in a casual environment and bond outside of day-to-day work.
