“Oscar is very smart, compassionate, friendly, resourceful, and helpful to the GSBS students, staff, and faculty. He has a great work ethic and a caring attitude,” wrote one nominator.

Another noted:

“It is evident that during the absence of an admissions director, he truly stepped up to ensure the continued success of the admissions department, doing so with unwavering dedication and skill.”

Sevilla’s support during key events like Visitation and Orientation stood out to some

“Oscar is always a bright light and calming presence regardless of the level of stress he's under…his tireless work is a crucial part of all of us being able to do our jobs.”

While a single line from one colleague says it all:

“We would do well to have another four or five of him at GSBS.”

Reflecting on the award, Sevilla shares why his work matters

“I am truly honored to receive the Melva Ramsay Award. It’s incredibly rewarding to work alongside colleagues who recognize the effort we all invest in supporting our students. I take great pride in helping to bring exceptional students into our community, and it means so much to see them thriving at GSBS and expressing their gratitude for the support they received during the admissions process. I feel privileged to be part of such an outstanding institution one that is both professionally and personally supportive.”
