Lourdes ‘Bunny’ Perez is the chief of student records at the Graduate School. She works both internally and externally to maintain records and track progress for Graduate School students. Perez maintains student databases, keeps records electronically, coordinates with internal departments and external agencies on students’ academic progress, and serves as a resource for students, faculty, and staff on institutional academic policies.
What excites you the most about working at the Graduate School?
I enjoy participating in discussions about students’ academic situations and hearing what faculty members have to say. I find that our faculty are thoughtful, fair, and can be students’ best advocates for fulfilling their potential.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy listening to audiobooks, eating out, and getting together with my family.
What skills do you find most valuable in your work?
I am very protective of our students’ information, and my discretion and reserved nature serve me well in my role.
Do you have a favorite memory at the Graduate School?
I love the moment when I can tell a student, “You’re all done!" I’ve had the chance to do that so many times over my years at the Graduate School, and it never gets old!
