Event Description

This month will feature Yutong Sun, PhD and will focus on Functional Genomics Core.

The Advanced Research Tools and Core Facilities Seminar Series is offered by the Department of Research, Education and Training at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The seminar series aims to provide knowledge about the capabilities, scientific principles and data output of MD Anderson's shared resources (core facilities). It is a one-hour seminar taught virtually via Zoom every first Wednesday of the month from 11:00am to 12:00pm from September 2024 to June 2025, except January.

This seminar series is open to all GSBS students, MD Anderson postdoctoral fellows, researchers, and faculty. During the seminar, participants will learn about the application of equipment/techniques/facilities, partnering with other MD Anderson labs, and the feasibility of integrating shared resources into their projects. Each core and shared facility will discuss the facility equipment(s), scientific theory, data/output, and how to request services. It is also intended to help promote the facility and have students and postdocs become more comfortable and familiar with the resources MD Anderson offers. Although the area of research is unique to each trainee, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows will benefit from learning about the technical support available that can further their scientific and educational training.
