Mentoring is deeply interconnected with faculty well-being and professional development, and effective leadership skills are essential to successful mentorship. My professional focus lies in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive academic mentoring programs that support individuals across all career stages in cancer research. At MD Anderson, I lead initiatives aimed at developing and retaining talent, identifying and addressing evolving needs, and evaluating the outcomes and impact of mentoring and trainee leadership efforts.
In my role as Administrative Director of the Academic Mentoring Council at MD Anderson, I oversee strategic efforts to enhance faculty and trainee mentoring through program development, advocacy, resource allocation, and skill-building opportunities. Additionally, I co-founded and co-lead the Trainee Leadership Certificate Program, which equips trainees and fellows with foundational leadership skills early in their careers, fostering the growth of future academic leaders.
