Three supported teaching assistants (TAs) are needed for the Graduate School's Core Course modules (GS21 1017 The Foundations in Biomedical Research). Students who fill the TA positions can receive full stipend support for two months (excluding tuition, fees and benefits).
TAs also receive credit on their transcripts for their teaching experience by registering for GS00 1020 Practicum in Teaching.
These teaching assistantships offer an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact. Interested students are encouraged to apply.
Students interested in any of the positions below should contact the corresponding directors and provide a brief explanation for their interest in being a teaching assistant.
Biostats Module: For those passionate about introductory biostatics and proficient in GraphPad Prism, this position offers the opportunity to lead discussions and guide students through the intricacies of biostatistical analysis. This module will run every Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. The person appointed to this position will serve as TA for the duration of the core course.

Regular Biomedical Sciences Module: Two positions are available for this module. Selected TAs will have the chance to actively contribute to students’ comprehensive understanding of the biomedical sciences through active teaching and moderating discussions. Each TA position spans a specific time frame. The first TA position will run from Week 1 to Week 7 (August 26 – October 11), and the second position will run from Week 8 to Week 14 (October 14 – December 6).

Furthermore, all TAs for the core course will enjoy the convenience of whole-day parking validations at the McGovern Commons Garage (TMC Garage 15) for the duration of their assistantships.
PhD students who have completed their candidacy exams are encouraged to apply, as this is an excellent opportunity to further expand skill sets and contribute to the academic community.
