Kathryn Gunther is a genetic counselor and clinical instructor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Medical Genetics at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Kathryn assists on in-patient care in the NICU and PICU for Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. Her primary interest is in Neonatology and genetic technology of early diagnosis in the critical period. She has previous research on the use of whole exome sequencing and parental perceptions of support in this process. She enjoys working on projects that involve psychosocial topics, mental health services, pediatric genetic conditions, and early diagnosis in the neonatal period.
