Shuxing Zhang
Associate Professor
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center
Department of Experimental Therapeutics
Dr. Shuxing Zhang is a renowned leader in the field of computational science and therapeutics development, with over 20 years of experience in industry, government, and academia. His lab develops novel cheminformatics, bioinformatics and systems chemical biology-integrated approaches to both basic research and translational studies. Currently, Dr. Zhang’s lab focuses on state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) technologies that have been successfully applied to big -omics data analysis, polypharmacology modeling, drug repurposing, and precision/personalized medicine.
To date, Dr. Zhang has published >80 high impact articles relevant to the intersection of in silico modeling and drug design, with that of cancer biology and experimental therapeutics (Nature, 2019; Nat Med. 2018; Nat Commun. 2018; Nat Cell Biol. 2017; Nat Commun. 2017; Cell. 2013). Over the years, Dr. Zhang has filed numerous patent applications/intellectual disclosures and co-founded several companies to translate his laboratory discoveries to clinical patient treatment.
