My research interests are focused in radionuclide therapies, particularly developing and clinically implementing quantitative SPECT for the purpose of dosimetry with the goal of ultimately evaluating the response to therapy as a function of dose delivered. The biochemical and physiologic parameters affecting the uptake and retention of radiopharmaceuticals must be carefully measured and the tools evaluating the uptake metrics appropriate, to then evaluate the dose response.
Depending upon the student’s interests, a tutorial in the Imaging Physics department would provide the student with experience in quantitative nuclear medicine imaging including the tools to evaluate the behavior of these radiopharmaceuticals and their relationship to therapeutic response.
