The focus of our translational laboratory is on the development and application of novel immunotherapeutic modalities for hematological malignancies and solid tumors. (a) Developing immune cells—T cells, Natural Killer (NK) cells, TCR ?? T cells— for immunotherapy. (b) Designing chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) to achieve a fully competent T-cell activation signal for efficient efficacy. (c) Genetic modification and ex vivo expansion of CAR T cells using viral and non-viral methods (Sleeping Beauty system). (d) Developing cytokine co-stimulation by expressing membrane bound form of cytokines on T cells. (e) Establishing efficacy of genetically modified immune cells in mouse models. (f) Neo-antigen and TCR identification for solid tumors. (g) Isolation and characterization of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) for various solid tumors. (h) Single cell analysis of immune cells evaluating motility, killing and gene expression analysis.
